DESCRIPTION OF THE SOMMELIER
Barolo "Vigna Rionda" Luigi Pira is one of the great Barolos of the Pira winery: an interpretation based on harmony, on the perfect combination of structure and grace, on the most fascinating and youthful aromas of Barolo. It is the expression of one hectare of the "Vigna Rionda" cru, the cru par excellence of Serralunga d'Alba: characterized by a calcareous clayey soil that allows the production of grapes for a powerful and structured wine.
Barolo “Vigna Rionda” Luigi Pira vinifies in horizontal fermenters at a controlled temperature for about 12-15 days. The refinement lasts 24 months and is divided between small French barrels of 225 and 500 liters and large Slavonian oak barrels of 2500 liters. The care and attention to the choice of wood, as of every stage of production, allows Barolo to express itself at its best, in a precise and characteristic way.
Intense garnet red in color, Barolo "Vigna Rionda" shows off a rich and complex aromatic range, in which you can recognize raspberries and watermelon, berries, rose hips but also tobacco, cinchona, balsamic herbs. On the palate it is harmonious and rich, perfectly balanced in the structure between tannic vehemence and expressive momentum, with a very long echo of great charm.
Intense garnet red color
Scent Complex, with nuances ranging from wild berries to sweet tobacco, with a balsamic and mineral finish
Taste Fresh and compact, harmonious, with a very long persistence
