Merk: Vini d'annata
Ca' del Bosco - Maurizio Zanella - data sheet of the 1990 vintage
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon 45% - Cabernet franc 25% - Merlot 30%.
Harvest period: From 1th to 9th October 1990.
Vinification: Maceration in contact with the skins for 21 days, final alcoholic fermentation in small new oak barrels, where also the malolactic fermentation takes place. Continued maturation always in these small new oak barrels for a period of 15 months.
Bottling: February, 1992.
Bottling aging: 12 months before sale.
Description: Intense red color with bright violet reflections. Bouquet is very intense, full and penetrating. Initially more exuberant sensations are aroused such as an erbacious hint, light pepper and red ripe fruit. Delving deeper one finds more refined and elegant notes such as small ripe fruits, violets and graphite which slowly expand over time. Dry flavour with good body. Very well structured. Appreciated primarily is the equilibrium of all components. The tannins, the fruit and acidity are amalgamated in an exquisite manner. The persistent aftertaste has a touch of bitterness which serves as an ideal backdrop. It is a wine of character that needs proper aging in order to develop to its full potential.
